Hosting and security data

Our hosting and delivery providers may process technical information such as IP addresses, request details, device information, and security events to deliver the site, prevent abuse, and maintain reliability. Their handling is governed by their own policies.

Aggregate audience measurement

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic metrics and performance signals such as page views, visits, referral sources, approximate country, device type, and web performance. We use these reports to improve useful pages and diagnose delivery problems, not to create reader accounts or sell visitor profiles.

If a Google Analytics measurement ID is active, we ask for permission before loading Google Analytics. When allowed, it measures page journeys and outbound actions so we can improve useful articles and commercial decisions. Advertising, remarketing, Google Signals, and advertising personalization are disabled. You can change your choice from the “Analytics choices” control.

We also keep an aggregate daily count of outbound actions by article, destination service, placement, and whether the link was monetized. This counter does not store IP addresses, user agents, cookies, account identifiers, or individual browsing histories.

External and affiliate links

Links may lead to travel, learning, or retail services operated by other organizations. Those services apply their own privacy and cookie policies. A clearly marked affiliate link may record a referral so that we can receive a commission at no extra cost to the reader.
